N.H.L. Draft

Well, the N.B.A. Draft has come and gone and now the N.H.L. begins their proceedings tonight. The New York Islanders have the top pick and have not revealed who they will select, although anyone but John Tavares is a joke.

Meanwhile, the Rangers will have quite a busy week ahead. The draft tonight and then free agency begins July 1. I doubt the Blueshirts will end up with disgrunteld Ottawa forward Dany Heatly via trade, but do expect the team to make a run at free agent, Marian Hossa. The Rangers pick 19th in the first round, while the New Jersey Devils are slotted 23rd.

Interesting that Brent Sutter was named the new Head Coach of the Calgary Flames. I wonder how it will feel for Darryl Sutter (current Calgary GM) when he has to fire his brother, because all coaches get fired at some point - even the best of the best.
