James Lamar "Dusty" Rhodes has passed away. He was 82.
There seems to be some people that get easily confused, because some have thought that former pro wrestler, "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes, was the one that died. Anyway, the baseball Dusty played for the New York Giants and helped the team win the first game of the 1954 World Series against the Cleveland Indians - a series the Giants would sweep.
After his seven-year career, in which Dusty also played for the Giants when they moved to San Francisco, Rhodes worked for 25 years on a friend's tug boat. When asked why his career was so short he said, "After (Leo) Durocher left the Giants, baseball wasn't fun anymore."
