We take a quick timeout from the fast and furious action here at March Matchups to bring you a few tidbits from the world of professional wrestling.
First off, W.W.E. CEO Linda McMahon appeared on CNBC’s “Mad Money” with Jim Cramer last night and the W.W.E. will follow things up with an appearance on Larry King tomorrow night. Scheduled to appear with King are W.W.E. Chairman Vince McMahon, John Cena, Chris Jericho and Floyd Mayweather.
Reportedly, the backstage reaction to Jeff Hardy failing another drug test has been met with shock, but also with little sympathy, and word is that Hardy is seen as someone blowing a golden opportunity.
CM Punk qualified for the Money in the Bank ladder match that's being held at Wrestlemania 24 with a countout victory over Big Daddy V last night.
There will also be a 24-man Battle Royal at Wrestlemania 24 with the winner facing Chavo Guerrero for the E.C.W. World Title on the spot.
So far, Shelton Benjamin, Chris Jericho, Carlito, Mr. Kennedy, M.V.P. and the aforementioned Punk have all qualified for the M.I.T.B. match. There are two more spots open. Could Matt Hardy replace Jeff Hardy? Who will be the eighth man in? As they say, stay tuned.
Finally, Vince McMahon (pictured above giving a peptalk to Hornswoggle) is scheduled to get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Friday morning. Also, you can vote for your favorite Hornswoggle t-shirt by clicking here.
