Every sport has an announcer that was just made to broadcast that particular sport. Francis Jonard Labiak, better known as Gordon Solie, was destined to broadcast professional wrestling. The W.W.E. announced last night on their E.C.W. show that Solie will indeed be inducted into the W.W.E. Hall of Fame this Saturday night.
It makes perfect sense because the induction ceremonies are being held in Orlando, Florida; a state where Solie is well-recognized because he was the main guy on the Championship Wrestling from Florida television shows.
The late Solie was quite critical of Vince McMahon and the direction he was taking pro wrestling, however he never came across as bitter in the way that Bruno Sammartino often does.
Jim Ross, a Hall of Fame member himself, will get the honor of inducting Solie into the Hall.
Solie is the final member of this year’s Hall of Fame class to be announced, the other inductees are Ric Flair, Florida promoter Eddie Graham, Jack & Gerald Brisco, Mae Young, Rocky Johnson and Peter Maivia.
For more on Gordon Solie, here is a website that I came across.
