Philadelphia Phillies' first baseman Ryan Howard recently hit his 200th home run in 658 games, achieving the total in fewer games than any player in major league history; breaking the record held by Ralph Kiner, who did it in 706 games.
According to the AP when Howard was asked about Kiner:
"Uh, he's the guy whose record I broke," Howard said with a smile. "Not to be disrespectful or anything, but he was before my time."
I'm not sure if there are any highlights of Kiner on YouTube, but at least Ryan could check out Kiner's Wikipedia page here.
I don't blame Howard so much as I do the p.r. staff of the Phillies; it wasn't like this came out of nowhere.
