Cherepanov Doctors Cleared
Late Rangers prospect Alexei Cherepanov suffered from myocarditis, a condition that obstructed blood flow to his heart and other organs and that team doctors are not going to face any legal ramifications, according to an investigation. Cherepanov, while playing in Russia for Avangard collapsed on the bench during a game last October and died. Interesting, though, that Avangard's president, general manager and a team doctor were suspended indefinitely from positions in the Kontinental Hockey League, and another Avangard doctor was suspended for two years.
