Eight Belles Buried
The only filly to run at this past year's Kentucky Derby has been buried at Churchill Downs. Eight Belles' remains were buried Monday in a quiet ceremony at the Kentucky Derby Museum. Eight Belles (pictured) had to be euthanized after breaking both ankles on the track during the race in May. They plan on holding a public memorial service Sept. 7 and dedicating a plaque to her under a magnolia tree where she was buried.
