Pete Townshend & Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder performed together a few years ago on The David Letterman Show. This song Heart To Hang Onto is a tribute to the late Ronnie Lane, who was a member of the Small Faces and performed with Pete from time to time; most notably on Townshend's Rough Mix (1977) album. It's a song about people who are in treatment or looking for treatment; Ronnie Lane suffered from multiple sclerosis.
