The Doors - Yes, The River Knows
What an amazing song this is by The Doors. "Yes, The River Knows" comes off of the 1968 album, Waiting for the Sun. You would think after reading the lyrics that Jim Morrison wrote the song, but it was guitarist Robby Krieger that did the honors. By the way, he also wrote "Light My Fire" and "Love Her Madly." I have no idea what this song is about except it does contain the line, "I promised I would drown myself in mystic heated wine," which is a bit of a portent in regards to Morrison's life and how it would end.
Please believe me
The river told me
Very softly
Want you to hold me, ooo
Free fall flow, river flow
On and on it goes
Breath under water 'till the end
Free fall flow, river flow
On and on it goes
Breath under water 'till the end
Yes, the river knows
Please believe me
If you don't need me
I'm going, but I need a little time
I promised I would drown myself in mystic heated wine
Please believe me
The river told me
Very softly
Want you to hold me, ooo
I'm going, but I need a little time
I promised I would drown myself in mystic heated wine
Free fall flow, river flow
On and on it goes
Breath under water 'till the end
Free fall flow, river flow
On and on it goes
Breath under water 'till the end

I had no idea Robby wrote all those songs (lyrics). Great song btw
Yeah by the lyrics you would definitely think this was a "Jim" song.
